Insurance Options Available to our Members

Tri-Town Teachers FCU has had a long and mutually beneficial relationship with The CUNA MUTUAL Insurance Group. They insure our Credit Union and have provided loan insurance for over 50 years in the form of Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) insurance. We have also provided Credit Life and Credit Disability Insurance for loans for our members. The AD&D insurance is provided under a group policy that is very reasonable. To learn more about AD&D insurance that can cover you and your family up to $300,000, please stop into our office.
Credit Life and Credit Disability insurance is offered when you apply for a loan. This insurance provides coverage if you become disabled for a covered illness during the time you have the loan and can't work. If you are disabled for more than two weeks and are unable to work, this insurance kicks in and pays your loan payments. Credit Life insurance can help reduce or pay off your loan if you die before the loan is repaid.
In addition to Credit Life and Disability, we are expanding our relationship and offering their services directly to our members through the CUNA Mutual-MEMBER CONNECT PROGRAM. In so doing our members can obtain Automobile & Home insurance as well as Life Insurance from a trusted source. Members of our credit union will be given the opportunity to purchase insurance with discounts of between 5% and 10% over what is generally available to the public.
In addition, if you desire, the premiums can be deducted directly from your credit union account, saving time and effort on your part. Life Insurance will be provided directly from CUNA MUTUAL, while Auto and Home Insurance will be provided through CUNA MUTUAL's partner-Liberty Mutual Insurance.

The Benefits of Combining Auto and Home Insurance with Liberty Mutual
Most people do not realize the benefits of getting a quote on auto and home insurance at the same time. Typically, most people request new quotes on their insurance only when they receive their renewal auto or homeowners insurance bill.
Why combine your policies? The most immediately gratifying reason is to save money. Many insurance companies reserve their best rates or apply a discount for their multi-policy customers.
A combined home and auto policy also helps you align coverage’s and deductibles to prevent gaps of exposure. For instance, if you need personal liability coverage to protect yourself from being sued regardless of the source, the limits you select on your and auto and home liability should be the same. Similarly, if you are willing to absorb the first $1,000 on a homeowner claim, you should consider the same deductible for an auto loss.
Making claims can be easier, too, when one provider covers losses that involve your home and car. For example, if your car is burglarized and your luggage stolen, damage to the vehicle will be covered by your auto policy, and your personal belongings will be covered by your home policy. One company means one call for both claims.
Money-saving discounts, protection from exposure gaps, and simplified claims: when you think about it, getting information on both at the same time makes good sense.
